Is ear syringing the same as irrigation?

The terms are often used interchangeably by patients, but old-style manual syringing and controlled electronic irrigation are different procedures.

Do I need ear drops first?

NICE recommends wax softeners immediately before or for up to five days before irrigation, but drops are not suitable for everyone. Follow professional advice.
